Resume and Cover Letters

All throughout my life I feel like I have always struggled with resumes and Have never made cover letters except for this past summer when I made two. Resumes to me are very tricky because so many people and websites tell you so many different things that it feels hard to really understand what's right and what's wrong. I have heard people say be as simple and straight to the point as you can. But I have also heard people talk about making them longer and explaining more. I've also heard people say to only write five things for skills and no more but then I've also heard people talk about writing everything relevant. I've been writing resumes since I was sixteen since that when I got my first job but until this internship I feel like I finally understand them better. We took a whole meeting just going over each others resumes and then later cover letters. The feedback I got for my resume was extremely helpful. My supervisors look at resumes and cover letters in big amounts and are people currently in the business. After the whole meeting I realized for advise of resumes or cover letters you need someone who is actively looking at resumes and who is still in the industry since they know what people look for right now in the industry and not years before. I also feel like I got some good feedback for my cover letter since that is the one thing I have always been hesitant making and submitting but now I can confidently show and submit my resume and cover letter when needed.
