WIM/GRAMMYU "Muses & Mentors"

Today I went to the Muses & Mentors networking and panel event that I got emailed about from GRAMMYU. I has no clue about a Women In Music organization anywhere let alone having a chapter here in Chicago so I was really glad to go to an even like this. I was able to gain some valuable insight from both students and professionals about making connections and just generally what the music industry looks like right now, especially for women. It was amazing hearing about everyone's pasts or where they are starting. I got to meet so many amazing people that I would have never met other wise since they either go to another school or are already deep in the industry. From the whole event I feel like I grew as a person and it really helped grow my network and get me more interested in making connections with people. I was able to make lots of connections on either Instagram or LinkedIn that people said I could contact them with any questions or tips at any time. I haven't made many connections yet so that definitely put my mind at ease for my career.
